Want To Show Your Support?

Are you interested in showing me some support during my thru-hike? What was that you said, was that a yes? Well in that case, THANK YOU!! Here are some ways you guys can help motivate and support me during my adventure:

1. Leave comments on my blog!

I’ll be updating and checking my blog pretty frequently (at least, that’s the plan!) and hearing from all of my family, friends, and followers will be a very nice comfort to me while I’m out on the trail missing everyone terribly – your posts are sure to bring a smile to my face.

2. Absolutely feel free to send me letters of encouragement during my journey north!

My first couple of mail drops can be found below, with my estimated time of arrival (ETA). If you do choose to send me some nice notes, please be sure to send me a little heads-up so that I know to stop at the post office (otherwise I might miss it!).

I’ve also created an email address specifically for my hike, so feel free to send me some lovin’ there! The address is raylynnATadventure@gmail.com.

To visit the Facebook page I created for my hike, please follow this link.

Along similar lines, if you’d like ME to send YOU a postcard or letter from the trail, please provide me with your address and I’m happy to send a piece of my adventure home to you.

3. If you feel so inclined, I’m more than happy to accept care packages πŸ™‚

As mentioned above, a few different addresses for mail drops are listed below, so please just let me know if you’ve sent me anything and also please pay special attention to my ETA date so that I don’t hike past your gift!

When sending packages with food, please understand that I won’t eat anything that isn’t in a grocery-sealed, unopened package with a clearly legible ingredients list. Also, please realize that I’m 100% vegan and follow an extremely plant-based diet, which means I don’t eat any form of meat, dairy, eggs, butter, etc, and stay away from all cooking oils; I’m also gluten-intolerant. If you do decide to send me food, please understand that I won’t eat anything that contains the above ingredients. If this leaves you feeling stumped, but you’re still determined to send me something delicious, feel free to contact me and I’ll let you know what I’m craving πŸ˜‰

To give you some ideas, though, I’ll be eating a lot of instant gluten-free oatmeal (I’m partial to the Bob’s Red Mills brand), instant rice, rice noodles, quinoa, lentils, Dr. McDougall’s dehydrated soups, and all natural peanut butter, as well as an assortment of energy bars.

(To my family and close friends, if you’d like to prepare your own food to send me, I’m of course happy to receive it, but please honor the no meat/dairy/eggs/oil/gluten request and send me a list of the ingredients you used. I’m sure you guys are all used to this by now, anyway, which is why you’re all the best πŸ™‚ )

Thank you to ALL of you for following my journey and taking an interest in my adventure! I’m so thrilled to share this experience with you and I hope you guys enjoy reading along!

  1. good luck im starting a month behind you… prep work for this adventure sure has been stressful but i imagine that it will pay off…

  2. Hope your drive south was uneventful and your first day on the trail will make it worth all the effort. Good luck. I know you are capable and you have that first aide knowledge now to fall back on. It was good to meet you in Solo and I will enjoy following you along your adventure. Be blessed-Terri Wilson
